For this course assignment, students were tasked with creating a rich-media artefact that explored current digital media trends and their potential implications for the future. My partner & I chose to focus on the reputation economy, the idea that one’s digital history & reputation (think Uber, AirBnB, Yelp, or social media influencers) has value that can positively or negatively affect your life throughout interactions with others and brands.
Our app would allow others to provide you feedback in the environments you choose (work, school, home) in order help you improve how others perceive you, and includes constraints to avoid abuse, such as a required time frame of being connected within the app before initiating in-app interaction is allowed. What happens when you receive conflicting feedback based on environment & the individual? Guess we’ll find out.
